The award-winning Partridge String Quartet collaborate to present a Sunday afternoon concert that explores the works of Australian composers and their connection with the next generation of musicians and composers. The members of this ensemble, all graduates of the Australian Youth Orchestra programs, are known for their dynamic performances of a wide range of repertoire. Inspired by wind, dances and flight, the collection of colourful works in this concert will provide insight into the intricacies of classical chamber music, whilst celebrating the importance of mentorship and shared experience through music.

Partridge String Quartet join Ensemble Goldentree for this concert marking the composer’s 250th anniversary and the inaugural Medley Hall concert season. Honoured by Schubert and his student Ferdinand Ries. Reimagined by Borodin and John Adams. Reinterpreted by contemporary composers for the twenty-first century.

'It’s Beethoven, but not as you know it. Ludwig van Beethoven was a historical behemoth whose influence on Western musical culture has lasted centuries. In 2020 we celebrate his legacy and shine a light into his shadow. This is Beethoven as honoured, reimagined and reinterpreted in the words and music of those that knew him and those who think they do.'
